Associate Professor, Director of Postgraduate Research at Durham University

Hannah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Durham University. Her research is focused in the areas of young people and youth transitions to adulthood, domestic abuse and sexual violence and women in prison. As a professionally qualified Youth Worker, prior to entering academia she worked in and managed Local Authority and voluntary sector youth work provision for over a decade. She draws on these skills and experiences in her research, particularly through participatory, co-production and creative research approaches. She is currently co-leading a project, Youth Under Lockdown, exploring the experiences of young people in the North East of the COVID-19 pandemic.
