Eliza Cachia, Ms

Senior Lecturer at Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST)

Eliza Cachia is a Senior Lecturer and academic, specialising in Early Years Education at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST). She currently lectures in the Advanced Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Early Years and the Master in Vocational Education Applied Research 4.0 (MVEAR). Eliza is also a part-time visiting lecturer at the University of Malta where she conducts tutorial sessions for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Primary Education and lectures in the part-time Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Early Childhood Education and Care (top-up). She also acts as a critical friend as part of the quality assurance department at MCAST and is a teaching practicum examiner at the Institute for Education (IFE). Eliza holds a Bachelor of Primary Education (Hons) from the University of Malta and a Master of Arts in Early Years from University College London (UCL). She is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Amsterdam. Eliza’s professional experience includes working as a primary school teacher and an assistant director of a primary school. She is actively engaged in educational research projects. Her main interests are children’s transitions in the early years, using project-based learning, and working with gifted children in the early years.
