Dr. Cheng-Huan Chen is an Associate Professor in the Institute of Learning Sciences and Technologies (ILST) at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan. He earned his PhD in Information and Computer Education, and his research interests include technology-enhanced learning, computer-supported collaborative learning, educational technology, and e-learning.
Dr. Chen leads the Learning and Immersive Technology (LIT) Lab at NTHU, where his research team explores how immersive technologies and artificial intelligence can be integrated into educational contexts to enhance collaboration and learning engagement. His recent work focuses on immersive virtual reality (VR)-based collaborative learning and metaverse education, aiming to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and pedagogical innovation.
In 2023, Dr. Chen was selected for the 2030 Cross-Generation Young Scholars Program by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Taiwan, and was recognised as an Emerging Young Scholar. His awarded project, “Advancing metaverse education: Exploring new possibilities of immersive VR-based collaborative learning,” investigates how students can collaborate effectively and learn meaningfully through VR-based collaborative learning in the metaverse.
As of September 2025, Dr. Chen has published 32 journal articles, including 20 in SSCI-indexed journals, as well as one book chapter. He has also presented nearly 50 conference papers at prestigious international and domestic academic conferences. He continues to lead the LIT Lab in advancing educational research, hoping to contribute to society and share meaningful findings with broader audiences.
