Anna Strycharz-Banaś holds a PhD in sociolinguistics from the University of Edinburgh and is a postdoctoral fellow at Victoria University of Wellington Institute for Early Childhood Studies. Her research interests span communication across individuals and communities, specifically communities of practice, and how people within them develop common understandings of their linguistic (and other) repertoires. Her current research combines her passion for education and development with her interest in linguistic resources to negotiate identity. Outside academia she has worked within the public sector, facilitating workshops and trainings for NGOs around conflict management and resolution.
