Abigail Bowling is a PhD student currently researching the career decision-making processes of early career teachers. Abigail is interested in debates surrounding structure, agency and reflexivity and how these can be applied to understand practice within education. Her PhD aims to utilise social theories outlined by Pierre Bourdieu, Margaret Archer and Amartya Sen.

Abigail has previously taught in secondary schools. This prompted her interest in understanding the school workforce. She continues to teach university modules at the University of York.
