Job

Researcher for our Ethical Guidelines review group

BERA has started to review the 2018 BERA ethical guidelines in the light of contemporary issues around research ethics for educational research. A review group chaired by Alison Fox has been established which will conduct this exercise between March-July 2022.

To support the work of the group, we are seeking a consultant early career researcher or equivalent to conduct research and analysis as directed by the group. An early task will be to  undertake an analysis of the changes to guidelines about their organisations and associations eg AOIR, BPS, SRA and ALT as well as other relevant ethical guidance and scholarly discussion in recent years.

The role will involve attending the occasional online meeting but can largely be done around other commitments. We anticipate the total commitment being around 10 days work at a rate of c.£200 per day and run alongside the group until July 2022.

To apply, please email your CV alongside a short statement (c.500 words) outlining your suitability for the role and any relevant experience to publications@bera.ac.uk

The first meeting of the review group is on 29th March and we would like to make the appointment by then but applications will be considered as they arrive.
