During 2015/6 BERA funded three Research Commissions to identify and explore topics of concern for the discipline and its research communities. The Research Commissions were asked to:

• identify and address issues of current importance to the study and practice of education
• provide an evidence base to inform the strategic direction of BERA and influence how we engage with others in current debates
• consider how the education research field can build capacity
• explore how educational research can respond to the challenges and opportunities raised by the changing nature of education across the four nations

The three Commissions ran for about 18 months, conducting a wide range of meetings, seminars and other events as well as involving lots of different stakeholders. All three have now submitted their final reports to BERA

BERA would like to publish three summaries – one for each commission – that are consistent in style and focus.

We are therefore looking to commission a writer/editor to put these together. You will use the reports submitted to BERA as the basis for this and can also have access to the Research Commission project leads to explore the issues further.
