Following a competitive election comprising of worthy candidates for one vacancy on BERA Council, we are delighted to announce the outcome.

Council

After a strong wider field of nine candidates, these were shortlisted by BERA Council down to three. From these candidates, we are pleased to say that Gurpinder Lalli has been elected to BERA Council. Gurpinder will begin his four-year term in September 2023 and we are looking forward to the individual skills, experiences and perspectives he can bring contributing to BERA’s activities in the years to come.

The election turnout was 9.1%, a slight increase on 2022. The low election turnout will be reviewed by BERA Council, thank you to all who participated as we do value our members’ voice.

Congratulations to Gurpinder and commiserations to the unsuccessful candidates. BERA is dependent upon active members involvement and it is encouraging to see such interest in serving on BERA Council. Further opportunities to join BERA Committees will be announced in due course, as well as an update on the role of BERA President.
