BERA Conference 2021 – Keynotes now Available

For our first venture into a fully online annual conference, we were delighted to have secured four outstanding keynote speakers to present alongside the full range of symposia, workshops and individual papers submitted through the normal routes.

  • Becky Francis, now the CEO of the Education Endowment Foundation and previously the Director of the UCL Institute of Education (IOE) will join us to talk about her own research as well as the EEF’s current projects.
  • Iram Siraj is Professor of Child Development and Education at University of Oxford and brings an international reputation for longitudinal research and policy expertise, focussed on the early years.
  • Katy Vigurs (Birmingham City University) will bring a perspective on higher education, with a particular focus on the stratification of HE and its relationship to university access, student experience and graduate outcomes.
  • Our fourth keynote is Vanita Sundaram (University of York) whose research focusses on gender and education, focusing more specifically on gender-based violence and teenagers; tackling everyday sexism, harassment and abuse in education across the lifecourse; and sexual violence in higher education.

The recordings of the keynotes can now be viewed on the BERA Website. Please click on the links below.
