Aynur Dadashova Mammadova is a PhD candidate in Education at the School of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, and a Graduate Teacher on undergraduate and postgraduate units at the University of Bristol. Her doctoral studies are funded by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
With over ten years of experience as a Senior Lecturer in higher education and a strong academic background in Linguistics and Education, she has delivered taught courses in Pedagogy, Teaching Methodologies and Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation in Education.
Her doctoral research, Exploring the Nature and Extent of School Self-Evaluation from the Perspectives of Stakeholders: The Case of Azerbaijan, addresses the limited empirical research on School Self-Evaluation (SSE) in Azerbaijan. The study explores key stakeholders’ perceptions of the nature and purpose of SSE in improving educational quality and examines existing external and internal evaluation policies and practices, as well as the potential strengths and weaknesses of SSE in supporting school development planning and improvement in secondary schools in Azerbaijan.
The poster, Exploring Mixed Methods in Educational Research: Insights from a School Self-Evaluation Study, highlights key insights from her doctoral research, which examines the role of mixed methods in educational research, demonstrating its adaptability and effectiveness through the context of SSE in Azerbaijan. By focusing on the methodological contributions of mixed methods, the article illustrates how this approach provides more comprehensive evidence to inform, address and bridge the gap between policy goals and practical realities.
