Dr Paul Martin is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Education Policy and Equalising Opportunities at UCL's Institute of Education. Paul's research interests include access to higher education and the effectiveness of widening participation outreach interventions.

Before moving into HE, Paul spent several years working as as a secondary school mathematics teacher. Prior to joining UCL, Paul completed his doctorate in Education Studies at the University of Warwick where his research focussed on the factors which can predict the likelihood of young people in England participating in HE. Alongside this he led the 'Advancing Access' widening participation programme delivered by the Russell Group universities.
