Primary Deputy Headteacher and Postgraduate Researcher at Anglia Ruskin University

Lewis Barrett-Rodger is the deputy headteacher of a primary school in Essex, recognised as a centre of excellence for outdoor learning. In addition, he is a primary maths specialist and course lead for an initial teaching training provider and a PGCE tutor. A postgraduate researcher at Anglia Ruskin University, his doctoral hermeneutic phenomenological study examines the lived experiences of children learning maths in the natural outdoor environment. His research interests include outdoor learning, primary mathematics, gender equality and hermeneutic phenomenology as an educational research methodology.
