Pete King is the programme director for the MA developmental and therapeutic play and MA childhood studies programmes at Swansea University. Pete has a professional background in play and playwork and his research has been published both in the UK and internationally. Pete’s publications include two edited books with Dr Shelly Newstead – Researching Play from a Playwork Persepctive and Further Perspectives on Researching Play from a Playwork Perspective: Process; Playfulness; Rights-Based and Critical-Reflection – and soon to be published Play Across Childhood: International Perspectives on Diverse Contexts of Play. Pete is also the co-author with the late Gordon Sturrock of The Play Cycle: Theory, Research and Application. Pete’s current research is looking how the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting playwork.
