We are pleased to invite you to the Launch of the Learned Society of Wales’s Hugh Owen Medal which will be held at the Old College, Aberystwyth University at 10am on Monday 28 November.

Professor Gareth Rees FLSW and Jane Reynolds great-great-grandaughter of Sir Hugh Owen.

The Hugh Owen Medal is named in honour of Sir Hugh Owen (1804-1881).

The award is supported by Welsh Government and fulfils the Society’s strategic objective of recognising and celebrating excellence in scholarly disciplines connected to Wales.

The Hugh Owen Medal is awarded in recognition of significant contributions to educational research, or the application of research to produce significant innovations in education policy and/or professional educational practice in Wales.
