Overview

We have been enduring an extraordinary period of challenges in education. Educators and students have been forced to apply and adapt to digital teaching and learning methods, and revised processes in the assessment of student attainment as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Anti-racism protests across the world in 2020 have demanded the reframing of education and curriculum content, challenging educational institutions in their thinking and (in)action about race equity and inclusive practice.

• How does educational research take a lead in generating new knowledge for shaping our adaptations in the recovery of teaching and learning?
• What are the future opportunities in teaching and learning that have emerged from this exceptional period of time?
