2018 marks the 30th anniversary of a landmark piece of educational legislation in the UK – the 1988 Education Act – which has had a deep and lasting impact on education policy and educational practice in the UK and overseas. For its 2018 annual colloquium, the BERA History SIG bring together historians of education and teacher practitioners to reflect on the significance and enduring legacies of the Acts for educational theory, policy research and practice both now and in the future.
