Curriculum: Theory, policy and practice

BERA invites contributions from authors to a new BERA Blog series exploring the theme of Curriculum. We welcome posts that reflect on, critique or offer research-informed insights into curriculum across theory, policy and practice. The curriculum is far more than a list of subjects – it reflects cultural values, power structures and aspirations for the future. Decisions about what is included, excluded or emphasised reveal tensions around identity, equity and educational purpose. We encourage contributors to engage with these complexities and consider how the curriculum is constructed, challenged and reimagined. Submissions can span all educational phases and contexts. We particularly invite summaries of new research, novel applications of existing scholarship and thought pieces that make academic work accessible to a broad readership. Blog posts should be a maximum of 750 words (including references) and written in an engaging, clear style suitable for a broad international audience. Please see our submission policy for details of how you can make a contribution. We look forward to your contribution to this exciting and timely series.
