BERA Postgraduate event South

Who are these events for?

These symposia, now in their second year, are aimed at early-stage postgraduate researchers in Education – from those finishing a Master’s and looking to progress beyond, to those in the early stages of doctoral work. The aim is to provide a safe but critical ‘space’. Participants will give 15-minute presentations about their research followed by constructive feedback and discussion sessions with their peers.

What will happen?

The aim of these meetings is to gather a broad spectrum of researchers to discuss their nascent research ideas and share their triumphs, troubles and experiences. The sessions will be led by an experienced educational researcher who will help guide and structure the event, but at the core of the symposia is peer review and support. Participation will give an excellent opportunity for PGR students to develop their research ideas, presentation skills and also relevant networks.  The events will run from 11.00 to 17.00, and lunch and refreshments will be provided. Each will have a maximum of 8-9 people, to allow time for everyone to participate.

N.B. BERA is offering travel bursaries of up to £100 per person for five applicants (per event)
