1. Introduction

1.1 This site is operated by the British Educational Research Association (“we” or “us”) whose principal contact address is 9-11 Endsleigh Gardens, London WC1H 0EH, United Kingdom.

1.2 Your use of this site is subject to these terms and conditions (“Terms”). Only those who accept these Terms are allowed to use this site.

1.3 To use this site and the materials it contains you must read and accept these Terms. Use of the site is indication that you accept that you are legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to be bound then please do not use the site.

1.4 There are different levels of access to various parts of the BERA site. You can simply browse some without holding any kind of account, however in order to experience the full functionality of the site (e.g. to interact with other users, submit content etc) you must become a BERA member.

1.5 In order to become a BERA Member you will need to provide us with some personal details about yourself.

1.6 We reserve the right to not keep all of your data and/or the material submitted by you to the site (“Submitted Material”) in perpetuity.

1.7 We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will have immediate effect from the date of posting on any site to which you are granted access and you should therefore review these Terms regularly. Your continued use of these sites after changes have been made will be taken to indicate that you accept that you are bound by the updated Terms.

2. Conditions of Use

2.1 All material on this site is protected by copyright. You may apply for permission to re-use materials enquiries@bera.ac.uk

3. Your Responsibilities

3.1 You confirm that you are over 17 years of age.

3.2 By posting or submitting any material for inclusion on a site to which you have access as a BERA member you confirm that it is:

3.2.1 not defamatory or obscene;

3.2.2 not in any way illegal or infringing any law or any person’s rights;

3.2.3 your own work and it can lawfully be published; and

3.2.4 is not as far as you are aware the subject of any dispute or court proceedings.

In contributing material to the website you are granting BERA the right to use that material in any format internationally, providing that appropriate attribution is provided.

3.3 We cannot promise nor guarantee that any or all of your Submitted Material as a BERA member will be posted onto or otherwise published. We may also delete materials from or modify materials appearing on this Site at any time and at our discretion.

3.4 You understand and accept that Submitted Materials that are published will appear for others to see and use.

3.5 In submitting material and in your general use of sites to which you have access as a BERA member you must not:

3.5.1 do anything which may cause (whether on purpose or not) the introduction or spread of a virus;

3.5.2 post any inappropriate messages (including outside the scope of any relevant discussion topic or course content). You may not for example post advertisements or chain letters or repeat irrelevant or identical messages or content or make any statement that is untrue or misleading;

3.5.3 impersonate another person or claim to speak on behalf of an organisation if you do not;

3.5.4 infringe our rights or the rights of any other user or third party; and

3.5.5 behave unlawfully at any time.

3.6 If you are aware of any material posted on this Site by anyone which does not comply with these Terms then please contact us.  Give us clear directions to where the misuse exists - including the web address and title of page.

4. Jurisdiction and acceptance of these Terms

4.1 These Terms and any dispute in relation to the materials available from this Site will be governed by English law. The English courts have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes which may arise out of or in connection with these Terms or use of this Site.

4.2 Your continued use of this Site indicates your acceptance of these Terms.
