A breakdown of last year’s GCSE results showed that poor, white, teenage boys in England have fallen below others in their exam results. Fewer than one in five who qualified for free school meals achieved five good GCSEs including English and maths.
Figures have also shown that, despite the gap narrowing by 0.9 of a percentage point, girls are still outperforming boys in achieving the GCSE benchmark of 54.5% to 47.3%.*
With great change taking place throughout the education sector, the issue of underachievement in schools remaining high on the political agenda, and an upcoming general election, we would like to invite you to our forthcoming forum ‘Raising Attainment: Overcoming Underachievement in Schools’ taking place on Tuesday March 9th 2010, Central London, 09:00 – 16:00.
Please be aware that there are LIMITED PLACES on this forum and these are available on a first come, first serve basis.
