Council

BERA’s work is managed by an Executive Council. This consists of up to 12 Elected members (including three Officers), up to 6 Co-opted members and a small number of Observers. Each member of Council holds a portfolio responsibility for various aspects of BERA’s work. BERA also employs a Chief Executive to drive forward all its activties.

BERA Council is led by a number of ‘Officers’ – the President, Vice President and the Honorary Secretary and Treasurer.

The Officers meet in between the meetings of the full Executive Council to ensure that BERA’s operational and strategic business is on track throughout the year. In addition to the roles mentioned above, the Conference Committee Chair, the Chief Executive and a representative from the BERA Office also attends these meetings.

The Association is a registered charity and the Council members are Trustees of the chartity.
